My Counselling Practice - Marble Arch, Central London W1My clients appreciate the fact that I have decided to keep the practice small, personal and friendly. This enables me to guarantee my high level of service and confidentiality, and it assures clients of contacting and seeing no one but me. I practice integrative therapy which means I am experienced in working with several approaches. In my case, I draw from humanist/person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic, transactional analysis, and existential approaches. This means that I can offer the type of therapy, or combination of therapies, that is most appropriate for the particular needs of each client. My counselling is confidential; I am affirmative and non judgemental, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, politics, culture or nationality. I have clients who are straight, gay, bisexual, transsexual, white, black, Canadian, Australian, New Zealanders, American, French, German, Swedish, Asian, Middle Eastern, Jewish, Muslim, Catholic and Atheist. I have lived and worked in North America for many years, and am trained in cross cultural therapy. What to look for in a counsellor/psychotherapistI appreciate that taking the first step to seek counselling can be daunting. Research shows that the single most significant factor in predicting the outcome of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. To be able to trust and confide in the therapist, it is vital for the client to have a sense of safety and to feel comfortable. A good way to start is by picking up the phone and speaking to the therapist. In my case, if I am with a client when a prospective client calls, I will tell you via my answer machine that I am usually able to return your call within the hour to discuss what might be most helpful way forward for you. This is confidential; you do not need a referral from a doctor or GP to see a psychotherapist.
Additional Support/ReferralsIf a client requests, my treatment can include confidential referral for specialist advice to my colleague, Dr. Lewis Clein, a consultant psychiatrist who is nearby in Harley Street and with whom I work in close cooperation. MapOn the Next Page. | ||||||||||||||||
