Abuse Counselling.Abuse might have been experienced in childhood or as an adult. Those who have experienced abuse, be it physical or verbal often feel ashamed and think they are different from other people. They keep their abuse a secret. In order to keep this secret they might unconsciously set themselves apart from others, and by so doing affect their subsequent relationships My aim in therapy is to help the client examine the assumptions they make about themselves as a result of abuse, and to support them in shedding their feelings of guilt, blame, worthlessness, shame and depression. |
